2008 Olympic Silver Medalist, Gymnastics
In my life, there are people who have crossed my path who I will never forget. Dr. Bicos is one of those people, he not only is a great surgeon but he is a great friend. I am a gymnast and in my sport injuries are well known. I have been very lucky to have minimal surgeries, but when I tore my meniscus in March of 2008, my dreams of making the 2008 Olympic team seemed to be over. Dr. Bicos performed an arthroscopic surgery on my left knee in March of 2008 and I was back and competing 3 months later, and in July I made the 2008 Olympic team.

My gymnastics career was not over in 2008, in 2009 Dr. Bicos traveled with our USA Gymnastics National Team to London, England where he watched me become the 2009 All Around World Champion. In February of 2011 I had to under go shoulder surgery because of a torn bicep tendon. Dr. Bicos put my shoulder back together and I continued to train and made the 2011 Pan American Team. While I was in Mexico I had a freak accident and tore the bottom of my toes open. Dr. Bicos put 9 stitches in the bottom of my foot and I competed 3 days later and helped my team win first place.
At the end of the day I look back at my accomplishments and wonder where I would be without Dr. Bicos, and I would not of be an Olympian, World Champion, or have a scholarship to the University of Florida. Not only is he a great surgeon but he is also an excellent mentor. I partly owe what I have accomplished and where I am today to him.

Hi Pete,
I am sending this indirectly as I did not have an email or phone to text you.
Yes, with your kind and effective care, and possibly with some divine intervention, I was able to complete both the Brooksie Half Marathon and last weekend the Marine Corps Marathon. Did every inch of the 26.2! The hip is as good as new. You saved me and helped me achieve my goals.
Gratefully,
M.
