Each fall, the doctors of Performance Orthopedics supply voluntary free medical coverage for local high schools. Dr. Bicos provides care to Groves High School at their home football games. Dr. Guettler does the same for Seaholm High School and West Bloomfield High School home football games. Since the demand and need for medical coverage is so great they also assist in medical coverage for Berkley High School and Ferndale High School.
The doctors assist the athletic trainers at their assigned high school with any injury which may occur during the game, and if needed that athlete will follow up with their doctor the next week at the office. Game coverage is an exciting time for the doctors and they enjoy standing on the sidelines cheering for their team and helping to keep the athletes healthy. It is another example of the commitment of the physicians to community service at Performance Orthopedics.
